It didn’t matter how bad the weather got, there would be heat and the ability to cook.
My husband and I have lived in our mountain cabin for the last eleven years. We couldn’t believe our find when we climbed up a half mile hill, to see this beautiful cabin and my husband said it was ours. The first thing we did was to get someone to build a dirt driveway up the mountain, so we didn’t have to walk the distance. I wondered who had installed the HVAC and how they had got the equipment up the mountain to the house. Inside, the log cabin was totally modern. It sat in the middle of twenty heavily wooded acres. We couldn’t see any way for the HVAC company to have hauled all of the HVAC equipment up the mountain. There was central heating and air conditioning. There was also a small fireplace that was centralized so the entire cabin could be heated with it. I loved the oven that was built into the fireplace. Whoever had built the cabin, had thought of everyone. It didn’t matter how bad the weather got, there would be heat and the ability to cook. He also had a wind powered energy system and solar panels, that supplies enough energy to run the lights, HVAC system, and the appliances. On top of the mountain, you can always find a breeze to run the windmills. We love our small cabin and my husband said that when we light the fireplace, it is like camping on the side of a mountain. We have a view like no one else, and by just opening a window, we have fresh air and the smell of the trees.
