Trading the Furnace for a Heat Pump is a Deal I Like

Winters are over for me.

No, I’m not dying but I am forever through with enduring one long, cold winter after another.

I won’t be putting myself through any more sub zero weeks and weeks. I walked all the snow removal equipment over to the kids down the street. They are young and just starting out. Now, they have all the snow stuff they will need. I sure don’t need it so somebody should have it. I also done to being a slave to the furnace. This was our HVAC heating method. While very effective, the HVAC furnace was also quite expensive and we wrote huge checks during the winter months to feed it. Again, that is out of my life forever now that we are moving to the South. Retirement actually happened, against great odds, so we are moving to the good weather. It is, after all, our last chapter in life. So, why not enjoy the weather? The new house is in an area where the winter is super mild. There is no need for a furnace. Our heating and cooling system is now packaged in one HVAC system. The new house comes with a new, state of the art heat pump. Like I said, the winters down there are so mild that we don’t have to rely to heavily on a heating system. This new heat pump also will be heating our hot tub with the excess energy from heating the house. I am all for that. Imagine, sitting outside under the stars in a hot tub heated by the HVAC system while Christmas music plays on the stereo. It’s the deal I have been waiting for my entire life.
